Our values of Care, Aspire and Succeed guide our approach to pastoral care. We care by supporting every pupil’s wellbeing, but also by setting the standards that help them to succeed because pupils feel safest and happiest when they know what is expected of them and when learning is free from low-level disruption.

We expect all pupils to follow our three universal rules: Ready, Respect, Safe.
These simple, consistent expectations ensure that classrooms are positive, focused places where teachers can teach and pupils can learn.

Every member of staff plays a role in pastoral care, ensuring that pupils are supported, challenged, and encouraged every day. Our pastoral structure is organised by year groups, with Year Leaders, Form Tutors, and a dedicated Pastoral Team working together to provide strong relationships, early support, and clear guidance.

Form Tutors

Each pupil belongs to a tutor group led by a form tutor who sees them daily and provides a consistent point of contact. Form tutors get to know their pupils well, supporting their personal, social, and academic development, and maintaining close communication with parents and carers.

Year Leaders

Year Leaders oversee the wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and academic progress of their year group. They work with form tutors, families, and support staff to promote positive attitudes, strong attendance, and high aspirations. When pupils need extra support, Year Leaders ensure it is provided quickly and effectively.
