Castleford Academy

World Book Day

This year’s World Book Day as Castleford Academy is going to be a little different.

We would like you to get creative and write something that we would love to read.

Below, you will find some random story starters.  Choose one of these ideas (or, if you prefer, you can use one of your own –  http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/index.html )  and create your own short story.

Story ideas

  1. Design a very unusual day for a scatter-brained magician who accidently sets the science fair on fire.
  2. Write a fable (fairy tale) about a lion-hearted goblin who is held captive by a werewolf.
  3. Describe the appearance of a radioactive talking dolphin who has crash landed on a lizard planet
  4. Write a postcard from a greedy vulture who is shipwrecked on a desert island.
  5. Write an email to/from a snoopy detective who swims with sharks.

It doesn’t have to be very long – 400 words maximum and you can submit your story ideas by following this link:

Good luck and we look forward to reading some amazing stories.
