Ex Pupil Returns
The Academy welcomed back Carrie Hewitt last Tuesday for Occupational Therapy Week. Carrie Hewitt left us in 2012 with 7 A*/A Grades and went on to study Occupational Health at York St John's University. She is in her final year and came into school to deliver an inspirational assembly to pupils from Y10 and Y11 who are interested in a career in the NHS.
Carrie requested to come in and represent the College of Occupational Therapists and the British Association of Occupational Therapists to celebrate and promote the industry in a nationally recognised week.
Carrie also went into a Biology lesson to discuss careers in Science and life at University before carrying out a workshop for pupils in Y9 , Y10 and Y11 who are studying BTEC Health and Social Care.
It was a fantastic experience for the pupils to see how successful Carrie has become both academically and in her positive and friendly manner in being able to deliver an assembly and work with a range of pupils. We are very proud of her achievements and wish her great success in her future career in Occupational Therapy and are very grateful that she has chosen to come back and help inspire the next generation of Castleford Academy pupils.
